The 8 Kinds of Looks

I have had 4 kind of looks from men:

  1. The “I don’t know who I am or what I want” look. #needy #egotistical
  2. The cold, stoic look. #wheredidyourheartgo
  3. The “I am going to eat you” look. #animalistic #unskilled
  4. The kind and trying-to-understand look. #higherself #friend

And I have given 4 kinds of looks to men:

  1. The “what do you want” look. #codependent #peoplepleasing
  2. The “I have no choice in the matter” look. #victim #don’tknowmychoices
  3. The resentful yet craved look. #animalistic #insecure
  4. The “I don’t need you to be any different for me to be OK” look. #confident #higherself

The most annoying look is the one that thinks it’s a 4, but isn’t. And we all fluctuate. That being said, we can fluctuate and be an authentic human at the same time by being honest with ourselves and others. People can’t be 4’s all the time. We are inevitably going to be attached to an outcome or feeling and do 1–3. I might give a 2 look to my boss and a 4 look to a friend or coffee shop barista, as an example. I want to be aware of it so I can intentionally choose next time. The people I spend the most time with have a darn high 4 rate. They mirror who I want to be, and I do the same for them. I have been meeting some neat men lately. I want to see them with an open mind, not make excuses for lower self behavior, and lighten up about my humanity.
